
TRUCK RULES Rules locked until the end of 2009
1. TRUCKS
- Full size only. NO El Camino, Ranchero, Ranger, Sonoma, etc.
- Minimum weight 3,400 lbs.
- Frame may be shortened to 101-inch wheelbase.
2. EXTERIOR BODY
- Remove all exterior trim and moldings.
- Remove all glass. This includes no rearview mirrors.
- Hoods and trunks must be chained, bolted, pinned, or welded and must remain on to race. Minimum two (2) pins in front.
- Bumpers must be strapped to fenders. You may remove fender wells.
- Bumpers: No I-beams, No nerf bars outside the body.
- You may cut wheel wells for tire rub.
- No altering rooflines.
3. INSDIE DRIVER'S COMPARTMENT
- Remove all flammable material. May leave front seat and dash or you may install a race type seat, properly mounted.
- Race seat recommended. Aluminum seat should be used. All joints completely welded.
- Must have at least six-point roll cage with door bars (driver side), 3 minimum.
- ALL roll cages must be 100% welded at all joints or you DO NOT RACE!! 1.75 outside diameter x .095 walls.
- Must have a working (race approved) window net, no mesh or screen over driver window. Net must be secured to roll cage.
- All holes in the fire wall and wall between trunk and driver must be plugged or covered. You may have two 1/2' holes in rear floorboard for drainage.
4. WHEELS AND TIRES
- Wheels nothing wider than 8", NO Bead locks.
- Up to a 275 DOT 60 series, any legal IMCA tire, American Racer, Hoosier.
- Must hae 9/16 wheel studs on right side minimum
5. SAFETY
- 5-point racing harness with crotch belt, headrest and window net are mandatory.
- Fire suits, gloves, shoes are Mandatory. Nomex underwear is advised.
- Driver must wear an approved safety helmet. SA -95, 2000 or 2005. Full face.
- Must wear an approved neck brace.
- Must have a minimum 2 1/2 number fire extinguisher within reach of the driver.
6. BATTERY
- Dry cell type securely mounted. Wet batteries must be in a sturdy box or container must be securely mounted.
- Must have a battery disconnect switch and be within reach of the driver. Switch must be able to shut the truck off when all other switches are on.
7. FUEL TANK
- Stock gas tank must be removed.
- You can use a five or six gallon marine fuel tank. Must be securely mounted with straps or bands.
- Fuel cell recommended.
8. ENGINES
- Cast iron blocks and intake may have aluminum intake. May have 6.5 inch plenum to carburetor mounting surface.
- No decking. Must be in stock location.
- Any flat top pistons. Engine must be stock with OEM components only.
- No head milling, any production head allowed. No pinning or screw in studs; only for repair of broken stud.
- Any vacuum secondary carburetor, demons allowed. May use any two-barrel.
- Cam up to .555 lift only hydraulic lifters. No roller lifters or rockers.
- Distributors: any are allowed. Driveline 2" steel minimum.
- Transmission: any type allowed. Stock disc 10-12 inches. No electric fans.
- May change rear gears.
- May change rear ends.
- Engines may be sealed at any time. If seals are tampered with, full penalties will be assessed.
- Top three in class and any others requested will have to submit to an engine inspection.
