PURE STOCK RULES

1. IF IT DOES NOT SAY YOU CAN DO IT, THEN YOU CAN NOT DO IT!!!!


2. SAFETY


  1. 5-point racing harness with crotch belt and window net are mandatory. Must be newer than 5 years old. All connections must be secured to roll cage. Tubing mild 1.75 x .095.
  2. Fire suits are Mandatory. (Shoes and gloves may be Fire resistant or leather.)
  3. Driver must wear an approved safety helmet. Rating - SA 1995, SA 2000, SA 2005
  4. Must wear an approved neck brace.
  5. Must have a charged minimum 2 1/2 number fire extinguisher within reach of driver.
  6. Must have a five pound extinguisher visible in every pit.
  7. Must have at least six-point roll cage with three door bars on the driver side.
  8. Must have a working (race approved) window net, ALL roll cages must be 100% welded at all joints or you DO NOT RACE!!
  9. Three window bars, 1/2 inch hollow tubing or 5/16 inch solid bar. Maximum spacing of 5 inches, with 1/2 inch wire mesh.

3. CAR BODIES


  1. Must have an original stock fire wall.
  2. Must have original floor from fire wall to where the front of the rear seat starts and from frame to frame.
  3. Must have original roof, hood, trunk, rear end, stock front end, A-arms, upper and lower. You may replace quarter panels, doors and fenders with OEM steel replacement panels. If your frame is a 1973 Monte Carlo, your body must remain a 1973 body. Body must be bolted in stock mounting position for the make and model of car. The engine must be in the stock location.
  4. Remove all flammmable material. You must install a race type seat, properly mounted. We recommend an Aluminum seat. All joints completely welded.
  5. Hoods and trunks must be chained, bolted, pinned or welded and must remain on to race. If any part of your car comes loose and is dragging on the track you must exit the track until repairs are made. Minimum two (2) pins in front of the hood. Bumpers must be strapped to fenders. You may remove fender wells. You may cut wheel wells for tire rub.
  6. All holes in the fire wall and wall between trunk and driver must be plugged or covered. You may have two 1/2" holes in rear floorboard for drainage.
  7. Minimum of 101 inch wheel base.

4.NERF BARS


  1. May go from rear of your front wheel well to front of the rear wheel well, then from the rear of the rear bumper and be attached to the rear bumper. They must be touching the boyd and stick out from the car no more than two inches.
  2. NO nerf bars from the front bumper to the front wheel well. Nerf bars at the front of the car may be tight against aftermarket nosepieces. At the rear, nerf bars may be tight against rear after market tail pieces, however if you do not have aftermarket nose and tail pieces at the front, your nerf bars must be 4 inches behind the front bumper. Rear nerf bars may be even with the rear bumper.
  3. Nerf bars are extended for body preservation and protection. If you are using them to ram or push other cars, you may get a black flag. Receiveng two black flags for the year will cause you to be asked to take your nerf bars off your car or take your car home for the season.

5. WHEELS AND TIRES


  1. May run 8" race wheel, must be steel and any rim offsets.
  2. D.O.T. tires will be no bigger than a 60 series 275 tire, IMCA Hoosier. American Racer will be allowed for 2008, but this will be the last year.(Towel city will be illegal for 2008)
  3. Must have 9/16 wheel studs on right side minimum. No studded snow tires.

6. BATTERY


  1. May be moved into driver's compartment, dry cell type securely mounted. Wet type must be in a sturdy box or container that will keep fluid inside the box or a battery must be secure within the box or container. Box or container must be securely mounted. If using a metal box, the battery must be insulated all around.
  2. All cars must have a battery disconnect switch and be within reach of the driver. Switch must be able to shut the car off when all other switches are on.

7. FUEL TANK


  1. Stock gas tank must be removed.
  2. You may use a five (5) gallon marine fuel tank.
  3. Must be securely mounted in the trunk with straps or bands.
  4. Racing fuel cell recommended.

8. ENGINES


  1. You may run flat top piston, but your compression must be 9 to 1 MAX.
  2. Rods, heads, valves, springs, rocker studs and arms and lifters must be stock with OEM components only. May use aftermarket rod bolts, pistons and crank, but crank must weigh same as OEM crank for cubic inch of that motor.
  3. No head milling or after market parts of any kind. Exception of ARP bolts and flat top pistons. NO modifiying of stock components.
  4. The max camshaft is a .425 lift, minimum of 112 degree lobe seperation, max of 205 degree duration @ .050. THIS WILL BE CHECKED AT THE VALVE.
  5. May run a (vacuum secondary carburetor only), of any size four barrel, with only cast iron intake. An adaptor for carburetors only, no spacers. Holley 4412-2 barrel may be used.
  6. 360 and smaller must weigh 3,400 lbs.
  7. 360 to 399 must weigh 3,500 lbs.
  8. 400 to 430 must weigh 3,600 lbs.
  9. 430 + must weigh 3,700 lbs.
  10. Your car may be asked to go to the scales at any time by Track Officials or CUSCRA. Failure to scale when asked to do so, will result in you to lose all money for the night and also a loss of all points for the night.
  11. An engine declaration card must be submitted and signed before any payout is made.

9. TRANSMISSIONS


  1. Must be stock transmission of same make as car.
  2. Must run steel flywheel and 11 inch clutch, 11 inch fully functional oil filled torque converter. No aluminum flyheels. No aftermarket items, NONE.

10. REARENDS


  1. Must be make for make, Ford to Ford, Chevy to Chevy, etc., with all original mounting positions.
  2. BRAKES - OEM brake systems. No aftermarket pedals, no brake pressure gauges of any kind.

11. EXHAUST


  1. OEM cast iron exhaust systems: Ford to Ford, Chevy to Chevy, etc.

12. ANY DRIVERS


  1. Any drivers caught with Engine, Transmission, Rearend or Suspension alterations will be penalized by loss of all points for the entire year and carry a fine of the amount you have won for the entire race season year before you may return to race.
  2. Engines may be sealed at any time. If seals are tampered with, full penalties will be assessed. Top three cars in the class and any others requested will have to submit to an engine inspection. Protest guidelines will be followed if prior to season's end.
