
GENERAL RULES
- Speed Limit 5 mph.
- 5 pound fire extinguisher in your pit and visible. 2.5 pound fire extinguisher of fire suppression system on board all cars in reach of driver.
- All roll bars within reach of head, arms, legs. Must have roll bar padding on them.
- Gloves, shoes, neck braces and fire resistant suit mandatory. Adequate foot protection. Mandatory foot bars, etc.
- SFI approved 3-inch variety - 5-point seat belts, mandatory mounting and dates - subject to track approval.
- Radio communication devices WILL NOT be allowed at the race track for driver to pit communications.
- A weight inspection may be requested at any time.
- Packing the track is all driver's responsibility. Proper packing is the best way to create a good track for the night, so please participate. If you are requested to pack but don't, a penalty will be assessed.
- Payout will be at the following race unless there are circumstances that require payment sooner and then we will work with you.
- Video Replay may be used to determine a penalty, but will not be used for scoring. All scoring is final as per score sheets. Although a penalty may be assessed, that might change your scoring position, such as rough driving. The promoter reserves the right to mke those decisions.
- If your car is disabled, pull to the infield and wait for race completion.
- You will not be called to line up for your race.
- All cars in all classes must have visible and accessible hooking point for tow trucks.
- All cars must have a minimum of three 16-inch numbers displyed on both sides and top(facing score tower).
- You can not enter the racetrack under Green.
- Red Flag means STOP safely and immediately.
- You may be requested to fill out a W-4 form if your winnings exceed $599.00 in the 2007 racing season.
- All weight in all classes need a minimum of 2 1/2 in. grade 8 bolts per 50 lbs., securing the weights.
- Must use an aluminum seat or tech-around racing seat in all classes. No old, worn or cracked seats of any kind
- If you refuse any inspection you will serve a minimum of a 5-race suspension and will not be allowed back until proven legal.
- All helmets must be SA 1998, 2000, 2006 - No exception.
- Your car is subject to a tech inspection anytime.
- Do not at any time exit your car while on the track, unless severe hazards exist to driver.
INTENTIONAL CRASHING OF ANOTHER CAR:
DRIVER COMMITTING OFFENSE
- First offence - suspended for one race
Second offence - one black flag and $100 fine and suspendend for two races
Third offence - two black flags, $300 fine and suspended for the year and your fines must be paid in full before you are allowed to come back and race.
- All classes will draw for lineup position in heat races. All rookies will start at the back. A yellow ribbon will be tied to the rear of the car and after three races the rookie may ask the class if they may be removed from rookie status. Reckless driving in any class will start you behind the rookies for the Main. Finishing points in heat races will determine line up for main. We my invert 1, 2 or 3 rows.
POINTS
- Heat race points: 55 - first, 50 - second and then each place down 2 points (43, 41, 39...)
Main race points: 150 - first, 140 - second and then each place down 5 points (135, 130, 125...) - Only top five will get payout at end of race season in each class. All class top five winners in Pure Stock, Puff and Street Stock will pull heads and oil pan under the direction of the mechanical tech, CUSCRA president and a Desert Thunder Raceway official before they are announced at the banquet as one of the top five in their class. If any engine, transmission or rear end violations are found, the car will lose all points for the year and pay back all winnings for the year to Harvey Howard, Owner/Operator.
To receive CUSCRA payout of compensation at the end of the year, you must buy your car number for $25.00 and be an active member of the CUSCRA association. If you are racing any race at Desert Thunder Raceway under another club you will not receive CUSCRA points for that event.
Safety Supervisor has a list to go through. Your car and driver must pass this safety list before you may compete or race at Desert Thunder Raceway.
Mechanical Supervisor has a list for each class. For the Pure and Puff class he will get the head number, block number and he will pull a plug and compression may be done. Tech will verify you have no dome piston. A vacuum test will also be done. Your car must pass the mechanical list and be compliant with all checks before you may compete or race at Desert Thunder Raceway
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
- "Presenting yourself as a professional" to the public and your fellow drivers will increase the amount of spectators and drivers. It will also improve the relationships on and off the track. Thanks to all of you as a pro!!
- Please note the following consequences for unprofessional conduct by driver and/or pit crew:
When you cause two yellow flags you go to the pits.
Threat to incur damage, physical confrontation in pit at another driver's car = one black flag.
One black flag - done for the night and no points for that race night (Heat, Trophy and/or Main).
Two black flags druing the year - suspended for the year and you loose all points and must pay a $200 fine before you are allowed to race the next year.
Intentional use to crash another car - suspended for the year and you must pay a $1000 fine before you are allowed to come back next year.
Illegal engine - points lost for the year and a fine in the amount of winnings for the year. Must be paid by the beginning of the next year in order to be eligible to race. A request for secondary judge by illegal driver will be at illegal driver's expense.(ALL CLASSES!!!)
"NO ALCOHOL IN PITS - LOAD UP AND LEAVE!!!!!!"
- Do not enter track unless there is a yellow flag. You may enter after the last car goes under the checkered flag so you can get finishing points.
YOU "THE DRIVER" ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PIT CREW BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER RACES!!!
PROTESTS
- If you refuse a protest you will receive a 5 race suspension. If you protest another car, your car will be inpsected for the same infraction.
ALL PROTESTS WILL BE accompanied by $50.00 and WILL BE IN WRITING WITHIN 15 MINUTES of the final checkered flag of the night. Protest will be presented to the Pit Boss, NO ONE ELSE! If the protest is found to be valid the $50.00 will be returned. If the protest is found to be invalid the $50.00 will be given to the person being protested. If the protest is presented in an argumentative or uncivil manner, Track may refuse the protest. Engine protests where engine disassembly is necessary will be $150.00. - If the protest is valid and a rules violation is found, the reassembly of the part(s) will become the responsibility of the person found in violation. That person in violation will loose all Championship Points accumulated at Desert Thunder Raceway and will not be allowed to race until the illegal parts are changed to legal parts.
